World of Dance is the gold standard for dance culture. In efforts to unite the dance and music industries, we have created a new competition format called WOD DV. (Dance Visual) Contestants from around the world are judged by a panel of 5 independent entertainment experts. Submissions are judged on both dance and video production criteria for their ability to create an amazing dance visual.
Video submissions are qualified to win multiple prizes. In addition to cash, those winning top acknowledgments are broadcasted across World of Dance social channels reaching over 13 million subscribers, and celebrated on our live-streamed awards presentation.

R&B is now more inclusive than ever, and MK xyz wants to be the genre’s ringleader. The rising 22-year-old triple-threat (she flips between rapping, singing, and dancing with ease) is all about expressing individuality, and “XYZ” represents the artist’s uniqueness that she refuses to slap a label on. “Since day one, I always knew who I was. It was important for me to not hide that and be unapologetic. ‘XYZ’ is the unknown variable and the sweet spot of the universe,” she says. “Where we as family say fuck the labels, roles, and everything ever imposed that doesn’t come
from within. We decide who we are. XYZ is home for everyone.”
MK xyz has music running through her blood: she was born in Jacksonville, Florida to dancer parents (her father was a breakdancer and her mother did ballet) and later moved to North Carolina as a pre-teen. The artist began performing at age three and soon enrolled in local talent shows, where she used famous entertainers like Chris Brown, Ciara, and Aaliyah as inspirations for her dance routines. When it came to singing, she looked to legends like Toni Braxton, Sade and Anita Baker to study their lower registers.
