Writers & Producers on Josh Killacky’s New Single “Workin”
Meet the Writers & Producers Behind the Music
Meet Co-Writer: Marlin “Hookman” Bonds
Months of hard work have gone into Josh Killacky’s debut single, “Workin”, and we’re here to give you a behind the scenes look into the creation of this new hit track.
First up, we have co-writer Marlin “Hookman” Bonds. Hookman is a Grammy Nominated songwriter/producer from St. Louis, Missouri.
Since his shift from professional musician to producer, he has written and produced 9 Major Label Singles, 6 of which have gone top 40. Some of these credits include; Jason Derulo “Marry Me”, Kalin & Myles “Trampoline”, and Hot Chelle Rae “Don’t Say Goodnight”, and he has also written with Chris Brown on “Day One” Royalty (Deluxe Album) and Kevin Gates “Kno One” Islah, to name a few.
While in the studio with Hookman, Killacky is quoted saying –
“Hookman knows exactly how to structure a song and it freaking works! The way he writes hooks is just inspiring.”
Meet Producer/Co Writer: Gharah “PK” Degeddingseze
Next up, we have producer/co-writer Gharah “PK” Degeddingseze. Having worked in music production at Universal Music Group, PK has collaborated and created hits with artists such as Chris Brown and 2 Chainz. PK’s music has been featured on television shows such as Braxton Family Values and Tamar & Vince. Additionally he has worked with other artists such as All-4-One, Nicole Scherzinger and R&B Divas.
Only having one 6 hour studio session together wasn’t an obstacle for Josh, PK and Hookman. Together, their synergistic energy led to the team being able to write the full song in just one sitting. Make sure to stay tuned for Josh’s new single,“Workin”, to be released this summer by World of Dance Records in collaboration with Empire Records.
